fsockopen in PHP available?

I have a modification installed in my SMF script which uses fsockopen (PHP) and it won't work is its not available in the server. I want to make sure it is available before signing up. Please advise.

Yes, fsockopen is available on all our servers. If you are connecting to a non-standard port it may be blocked in the server firewall. If it is please open a support ticket and include the port number and it can be opened up for you.
